Tiger

Well, Tiger is almost here and everybody is excited. The thing I'm looking forward to the most is Spotlight. Search is a beautiful thing. Man, I rocked search back in OS9. Sherlock was seriously kick arse, I never used to open a folder, Apple + F was all I needed.

Then came along OSX and bam, we were back to 1983. Thankfully they have improved it since then and I use search a lot in Panther, however it's not until Tiger that they have taken search seriously. Go Apple + f in Panther now, and you'll see what I mean. Bring on the Spotlight hot key. Hopefully it's not going to kill every computer that isn't a G5.

Dashboard looks kinda cool, look being the key word there.

When Steve holds down shift....
The idea of an application flipping over and the preferences being on the back is pretty cool, hopefully other developers take note of this and it won't take as long to become mainstream as drawers did. The Quartz effects in Dashboard look pretty crazy, but again, I fear for my computer's safety.

Here are some of the 200 odd new features of Tiger that I'm looking forward to the most. Some of which I have been waiting for well over 5 years for. Disapointingly, there is no excuse for why some of these features weren't introduced earlier, but hey, better late then never. Still no sign of "Home on iPod" though, oh well.
